My May Day was a shopping day for me and it was so much fun. When isn't shopping fun? Well, not always, but today it was. Normally when I shop for clothes, I go alone and have a hard time finding what I am looking for, but I don't want a friend to come with me because she will know what size I wear and how terrible I look in some clothes and I just want to hide all of that. But today I threw that out the window. Yesterday I received a card in the mail from Stein Mart for 20% any item because this is my birthday month. A good friend from church called me about with a question last night. She and I have recently done a few social things together and she is so fun to be with. My stomach usually hurts from laughing so much after spending time with her. I asked her last night if she had plans for the day and she did not. I told her about my plan and she was excited! But I had no idea just how much fun it would be for me. After meeting for breakfast, we headed out to shop. She immediately asked me my size and started picking up dresses, tops and pants she thought I would look good in. Many of the things were things I would never have chosen. I felt like I had my own personal shopper. She would leave the dressing room and come back with more items. I bought white pants for the first time ever in my adult life, a pretty blue sweater, and an ORANGE blouse! I was shocked at how much I loved it when I put it on. She also brought me a black dress I tried on back in January for a special function and didn't like it on me. I loved it on the hanger, but not on me. She had me try it on again and showed me that the slip part underneat the dress could be adjusted and lo and behold, the dress looked so much better on me! And I got it for 50% off! It will be the dress I wear when we have the nice dinner out at a French Restaurant in New York. The two of us met another friend for lunch and we had a great fellowship. What a fun way to spend the day!
