It's amazing that another year has almost gone by and Christmas will be here next week! I hope it's a special one for all of you who read this.
This is our second year in this home and my decorating is similar to last year, except for the "theme" of the tree. I found these ornaments back in September while shopping in Dallas, and decided to try to find more things to go with that color theme. It wasn't too difficult to find things that matched!
So, Here's the tree. My Mom and the girls did most of the actual decorating for me while she was here over Thanksgiving-while I cooked! I thought it was a great plan.
Here are a few more pictures and a recipe!
The Front Door with a lighted wreath. I've always wanted one of these. This is our first year to have one.
The mantel and fireplace area, and an area on the buffet.
These are two of my favorite ornaments, but they didn't exactly go with the color theme this year!
A really great homemade cookie recipe I found online-great for decorating!
The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies
INGREDIENTS
- 1 1/2 cups butter, softened
- 2 cups white sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 5 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
DIRECTIONS
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cover, and chill dough for at least one hour (or overnight).
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Roll out dough on floured surface 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. Cut into shapes with any cookie cutter. Place cookies 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake 6 to 8 minutes in preheated oven. Cool completely.
Thanks for stopping by-and thanks again to BooMama for hosting the tour. I am excited to see everyone else's decorations!

That is a cute tree. Very mod. Don't think I've ever used the word mod before, but that's what came to me :)

Merry Christmas! I love your lit wreath too! It's nice to get help decorating, I rarely do, so I appreciate it when someone lends a hand. Well, more taking it all down more than putting it up! ; )
