As the girls and I wait for Saturday morning to get here, we are full of excitement and anticipating a wonderful reunion with Joe. We'll probably have that reunion as early as 5:00 or 5:30 in the morning! I enjoy the anticipation of his return too-as we get closer and closer to that day. I can see this in the girls as well. To all of us, it feels like he's been gone a long time-and 4 months is a long time, especially to a child. There will be the adjustment period for us after he's back-but we'll get through it, we always do, and it's always worth it.
This is only the 2nd time Joe has come home with a large group from a deployment since I've known him. The first was after desert storm ended in March of 1991. The other deployments, he has returns with one or two crews, or alone. Anytime he comes home it's wonderful, but the excitement is multiplied as we get to witness the other reunions as well.
The girls and I worked around the house a lot on Saturday-inside and out. They were a big help and complained very little. :) Ellie even did some things on her own that needed to be done. She noticed and did it.
This morning feels like fall more than any other day has so far. We love it! I hope the forecast holds for the weekend and it will be feeling like fall when Joe returns, too. It only seems right to have them return to cool weather after spending 4 months in 100+ degree heat.
I'm so excited for you!
