We now have an official count down for Joe's return. He is scheduled to land here a week from Saturday-VERY early in the morning! They will land at the local airport, but take buses to the base where we will meet them. ( The runway is being repaired at the base and a plane that size can't land there right now.) It feels great to have more definite information about his return. I appreciate your prayers for a safe trip for all 200+ men and women-as well as the group that leaves here tomorrow to replace them. They will be there until February.
Our Women's Ministry has a Mentoring program and I felt led to take part in it this year. I signed up to be either a mentor or a mentee and learned last week I will be a mentor. Tuesday night I met my mentee. Her name is Amanda and she is a sweet, Godly woman-a wife and mom of 2 young boys. I'm excited about the time we will spend together. Our first "meeting" is at 10:00 this morning! In the fall of October 2006, I went on my first retreat with a small group of women from this church and Amanda was my roommate! I love how God has a plan long before we know what it is!
Hi, Melene! Thanks for visiting my blog. I hope life in Texas is going well. I'm glad to hear Joe is coming home soon! I was really touched by the fact that he sent all of his "girls" bouquets a flowers. So sweet.

It's so nice your husband's return is nearing. You will make a great mentor. Can't wait to hear about your experience with that this year.

Just a quick note of humble thanks for holding it together at home while your man serves our country. My 4 day taste is soooo trivial compared to your sacrifice. Bless you!!!
